Dr. Savage has obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The CCSP® certification requires the doctor to attend a minimum of 100 hours of a 120 hour postgraduate program. This instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these hours, the doctor must then take and successfully pass a comprehensive written examination.
This training will aid the doctor in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing his diagnostic skills and patient care. The CCSP® certification exists to provide a uniform standard of education that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has met a minimum level of competency in chiropractic sports medicine. Dr. Savage joins over 5500 others internationally who hold this designation.
In 2002, I earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas Texas. In June of 2002 I opened Savage Chiropractic, conveniently located in central Tucson. Prior to becoming a Chiropractor I trained as a massage therapist at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts and graduated in 1994.
As a massage therapist I worked primarily with athletes. I am active in weight training asa power lifter and continue my strength training with Russian Kettle Bells. I now study I Liq Chuan Kung Fu, and have earned Instructor Level status. I know that what I have to offer is, to my knowledge, the best treatment that I can currently present to my patients. I know that, if a prospective patient presents with the indicators that verify the presence of a structural shift in the spine, my recommendation for care is in their best interest, and is a recommendation that is based on my experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic for over ten years.
